Oceanscan enters partnership with the Aquatec Group

14th December 2022

Oceanscan is delighted to announce a formal rental partnership with the Aquatec Group for their LeakLog System that allows operators to detect subsea leaks.

“Since the launch of LEAKlog in 2007, Aquatec Group has developed and enhanced the system to make it the preferred option for ROV or diver detection of leaks in the oil and gas industry,” said Aquatec Managing Director Andy Smerdon.

He continued, “The ability to deploy - three different sensor types in one integrated system ensures that subsea hydrocarbon fugitive emissions are detected with impressive sensitivity – enabling them to be tackled by our clients. Everything we do helps reduce the environmental impact of the industry, and we take great pride in that.”

Christian Blinkenberg, Group Commercial Manager at Oceanscan, stated, “we were looking for new business ventures and found that the market required a dynamic and effective leak detection system – and we are thus delighted to enter into this cooperation agreement with Aquatec Group. While our initial focus is on subsea leak detection, we look forward to working closely together to develop solutions to our client’s offshore challenges with a range of Aquatec subsea instrumentation”.

This tie-up comes after quite a year for Basingstoke-headquartered Aquatec Group. Nominated ‘Best Small Company’ at the 2022 Subsea Expo Awards, the subsea innovator went on to win the prestigious Spotlight on New Technology Award® at the 2022 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Woelfel Best Mechanical Engineering Achievement Award for its KINEKtron® Retrofit Subsea Strain Measurement System.
